One of the best and most reliable DSLR's used to date.
Real workhorse, that oozes with confidence, every time you press the shutter release.
Construction is very rugged
Quality of pictures excellent, with best dynamic range, focusing and metering to date
Low noise
Used for 2 years, and only retiring it for the Nikon D850

Ive had my D810 for just over 2 weeks now and am very impressed. This replaced my much loved D300, which although still a great camera is getting a bit long in the tooth. The D810 is just superb; although heavier than the D300, it doesnt actually seem it in the hand. The ergonomics of the camera make it very comfortable to hold. A few controls are located differently from the D300, but nothing too drastic. The viewfinder is crisp and sharp, also the eyepiece dioptre adjustment is much easier than on the D300. The focussing system is very quick and the 3D option is much improved; very usable. The back screen looks huge and is very sharp and clear. Metering is accurate and has a new Highlight option, which Ive not used yet but sounds a good idea. Ive been using the camera with a Nikkor 80-400 AFS -G lens and also a Nikkor 24-70 f2.8 and the sharpness and clarity of the images is just stunning. I got mine form Greys of Westminster, first time Ive ever used them and I must say they were brilliant.
In summary, the D810 is a fantastic bit of kit, it may be a tad expensive, but its worth worth every penny.

Many improvements over the D800, best of all the quieter shutter and uprated fps.
